The renowned singer-songwriter, who had previously remained quiet about her views on the presidential candidates, revealed her decision on Instagram after watching the debate between Harris and Trump, stating that Trump's deepfakes "triggered my concerns about AI and the dangers of misinformation."

"It led me to the conclusion that I need to be absolutely clear about my true intentions for this election as a voter," Swift said. "The best way to fight misinformation is through the truth."

Swift's endorsement of Harris follows only weeks after Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that he had secured Swift's backing. He also shared several AI-generated deepfake images of Swift and her fans, commonly referred to as Swifties, apparently showing their support for the Republican nominee.

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence in recent years has made it significantly easier to create convincing deepfakes—fabricated images or videos depicting people doing or saying things they haven't. Experts are increasingly concerned that these deepfakes could influence voters' perceptions in the lead-up to the November presidential election.

Swift concluded her statement by urging voters to conduct their own research on key issues and ensure they are registered to vote.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
